What is your favorite book?
My favorite book is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am fascinated by American history during the 1920s.
What movie can you quote word for word?
I love to watch movies and am thrilled my kids are interested in the same movies I love to watch. I just introduced my oldest daughter to Grease and Grease 2, both of which I can quote word for word. My daughter and I can sing all the songs, too.
What do you like about your job?
I love the variety of the clients. One day I can be helping a nonprofit organization and the next day I can assist a video production company. Each day brings something new and exciting, which keeps the accounting interesting!
How do you like to spend your spare time?
I spend my spare time with the loves of my life – my husband and my two daughters. Both girls are involved in all sorts of activities, so we are always on the go, jumping from things like gymnastics to ballet. In our spare time, we enjoy going to the movies, Busch Gardens, and Lowry Park Zoo.
What is the saddest movie?
I have a big heart, so there are many movies that will bring me to tears no matter how many times I have seen them – Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias, Beaches, Schindler’s List, My Girl, Bambi, and E.T., to name a few.
What did you have for Sunday dinner growing up?
When I was growing up, we went to my grandmother’s house every Sunday for dinner. Without a fail, my grandmother always prepared either fried chicken, pork chops, or pot roast with fresh vegetables from her garden. For dessert, we had homemade chocolate cake. I can still taste it now. Grandma was the best cook!
If you could hire out one household chore what would it be?
I absolutely DESPISE doing laundry! Who has the time to fold it all and put it all away when the family is just going to rip it right out of the drawers as soon as I feel like I’m done? I feel like Sisyphus – he will never get the boulder up the mountain, and I will never completely conquer the mountain of laundry.
Why were you given your name?
I am named after the song “Mandy” by Barry Manilow. However, my mom spelled it with an “i” to end the same way as her name Vicki. My middle name, Nicole, comes from a character’s name on a soap opera in the 1970s.
What place would you like to visit?
I would love to visit Norway and to stay at one of the ice hotels.
